The Board of Education sets policy and provides direction, in conjunction with the Adat Shalom Board of Directors, regarding educational curriculum and programming for Torah School students and general membership youth. The Board of Education seeks to assure an educational program that is consistent with the values and guidelines of our congregation, so that our youth become knowledgeable about Judaism and experience its meaning and power.
The Torah School is in constant search of volunteers for a range of tasks, from Hebrew mentoring, to hosting potlucks for classes, to assisting teachers and room parents, to organizing or assisting in fund raising events. Each class has a room parent and a Tikun Olam coordinator who should be contacted by anyone able to volunteer.
Of equal importance, the Board of Education needs feedback from all parents – and students -- to help us identify areas that in need of improvement. A formal evaluation will be done annually; informal input is solicited at all times.
