The Sukkah Song (Sally Heckelman)

We build a succah in the Fall,
We sit inside its three walls,
We look above, it could be made of bamboo,
But when we look up the shmayim shines through.

Chorus:

And we'll be sitting in the succah all night long,
Waiting for the stars to come out (2x).

Family and friends visit our succah,
They sit and eat and say the bracha,
Celebrate and sing Sukkot songs,
When the neighbors hear us they join along.

Chorus:

Link to link we hang up paper chains,
And we hope during Sukkot it won't rain,
We string up all different kinds of fruit,
And remember our Jewish roots.

Chorus:

Perot

Perot, perot
Who wants to buy perot,
Perot for Sukkot.
Apples, grapes and oranges (2x)
A tomato on the roof
Perot for Sukkot.

Perot, perot Mi rotzeh liknot
Perot lechag Sukkot.
Anavim v'tapuchim (2x)
Ve'agvaniah
Lit lot al gag sukkah.

I Built A Little Sukkah (tune of "I Have a Little Dreidyl")

I built a little sukkah,
I made it out of wood,
I hammered it together
Just as I knew I could.

Refrain:

Oh sukkah, sukkah, sukkah,
I built it out of wood,
I hammered it together,
Just as I knew I could.

On top I placed some branches
So I could see the sky
Inside I hung some apples
I hung them up so high.

(Refrain)

Inside I waved the lulav
And the etrog too
Inside I placed a table
With chairs for me and you.

(Refrain)

Let's eat our dinner in it
I know it will be fun
Come join us if you want to
Come join us everyone.

(Refrain)

Chorus:

This is what we need to build a Sukkah
Wood and branches
Hammer and nails
This is what we need to build a Sukkah
For this holiday.

First we build a frame with wood and cover it with branches
Lots of fun to do
But don't forget that we must see the sun peeking at us through the roof.

Chorus:

Now it's time to hang the apples, carrots and bananas Pears and popcorn, too But, don't forget that we must see the sky peeking at us through the roof.

Chorus:

After it is finished we can eat inside the Sukkah
We can sleep there, too
But don't forget that we must see the stars peeking at us through the roof.

Chorus:

Sukkot Song (Steven Carr Reuben)

Palm branches up high
With fruit hanging all around
You see to the sky
Sukkot is here.

We shake the lulav
North, south, east, and to the west
Up and down
'Cause we know beauty's everywhere.

Sukkot is a time of harvest
A time for us to say
We're thankful for food we eat today.

Shake together lulav, hadas and the aravah
Smell the etrog under our Sukkah,
You see to the sky
Sukkot is here.

L'Chag HaSukkot (Nili Amitai)

L'chag haSukkot sukah shel shalom
Aba v'ima bonim li hayom
Hadas v'etrog lulav arava
Mah yafa haSukkah v'tovah.

For Sukkot, mommy and daddy
Build me a Sukkah of peace today
Myrtle, citron, palm branch, willow
How pretty and good/nice is the sukkah!
