Villages are an effort to create smaller, more intimate communities within Adat Shalom. Villages are geographic groupings of family units headed by volunteer captains who serve as liaisons with the larger Adat Shalom community. A first line of support for members who experience a life cycle event, such as the birth of a baby or the death of a loved one, the villages also can organize holiday activities such as welcoming new members, Sukkah parties, Shabbat or Havdallah pot lucks, and other social activities.
Our community is a diverse and multifaceted one. As we strive to remain a vibrant and exciting home for our members, we welcome your suggestions and ideas for maintaining and strengthening the villages.
