You are our essential partners in supporting our children’s education, using our hearts, heads and hands to guide our students to become menschen (ethical people). We want our students to thrive in our school and in life. I am inspired by these words:

For Jewish learning to be both meaningful and relevant, it must empower Jews (and fellow travelers) to thrive—in their personal success and happiness, in being more socially connected to each other and their communities—and [be] better equipped to make the world a better place.

—David Bryfman in  Gleanings

We have talented teachers who are guiding students in their search for meaning and relevancy through their lessons and projects. New this year—

  • To strengthen our students’ social connections to each other and to Adat Shalom, we are expanding our time to build Kehillah (community).  During this time, students will greet each member of their class and share about their week.
  • To help our students be better equipped to make the world a better place, I am working with Torah School Council members to build a tikkun olam (repairing the world) project into each grade’s curriculum.

As always, we are committed to growing and developing our curriculum to inspire our students’ active Jewish learning. There is great meaning in child-centered, relationship-based, community-centered, and life-relevant learning. Please reach out to me at any time to talk about the Torah School and your children’s experience.

Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to a wonderful year of Jewish learning and living.

B’virkat shalom (with a blessing of peace),

Rabbi Julie
