“More than Israel has kept the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept Israel.” (Ahad Ha-Am, circa 1900 — cultural Zionist, and major influence on Reconstructionist founder Mordecai Kaplan)
Saturday morning is the focal point of our communal experience. Visitors are always welcome at Adat Shalom. You can read our Visitor Guide here.
Alongside our youth education program, our many religious services offer prayer and reflection, song and study and spirit, connections between Torah and contemporary realities, life-cycle celebrations, and more. Afterward, all generations enjoy our signature, member-driven, communal oneg Shabbat luncheon, and afternoon opportunities to learn and connect.
Many Friday nights have musical or themed services, often with dinner, at the synagogue or in various neighborhoods. Torah School families enjoy Friday nights together. And in-home Shabbat dinners and Havdalah gatherings unfold through our villages.
