Minyan Pashut is an informal, participatory, lay-led Reconstructionist service, with a dash of Havurah Movement flavor, held more or less every other month concurrently with the main service in the sanctuary. We’re do a bit less talking or explaining and focus more on mindfully experiencing the prayers; singing them; “flowing” into them. A volunteer presents intellectually penetrating comments (Divrei Torah) on the weekly portion, which stimulate an in-depth conversation to explore the topics raised. We wrap up with a “bissel schnapps” and then join the rest of the community for the Oneg lunch.
